DISH Connects Hopper Platform to Industry Leading Home Automation System
Custom Installers and Consumers To Benefit from Better Integration with Award-Winning DISH Hopper Whole-Home DVR
DISH Hopper to support Control4 home automation systems
DENVER–(BUSINESS WIRE)– At the 2013 CEDIA Expo, DISH (NASDAQ: DISH) today announced plans to integrate Control4 (NASDAQ: CTRL) home automation technology with its award-winning Hopper® Whole-Home HD DVR system. As a result, the Hopper platform will soon be controlled by the popular Control4® system commonly found both in high-end and mainstream home automation installations. The move follows DISH’s July announcement that it will share Application Programming Interface (API) programming instructions for the Hopper with selected companies. DISH will implement Control4’s Simple Device Discovery Protocol (SDDP), making it even easier for automation installers to fully integrate the capabilities of the DISH Hopper receiver and service. DISH is exhibiting Control4 and other home automation solutions in booth 2340 of the CEDIA Expo this week at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.

NYCEDC, NYC Digital, New York Angels, and NY Tech Meetup To Participate in CE Week 2013
New York, NY – June 18, 2013 – CE Week, the consumer electronics and technology industry’s annual mid-year event, today announced several new partnerships to support New York City’s innovative tech subsectors and bring local up-and-coming startups to CE Week Line Shows and Exhibits. The 2013 CE Week Line Shows and Exhibits are scheduled for June 26-27 at the Metropolitan Pavilion and Altman Building in New York City. This event is the official show headquarters of a weeklong series of CE technology events taking place in the city during the course of CE Week, June 24-28.
“The technology sector in New York City is an increasingly important aspect of the economic well-being and future outlook of our City,” said New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) Executive Director Kyle Kimball. “The partnership between CE Week and NYCEDC will provide programming that will help foster this sector in order to further cultivate a booming environment for technology.”
As part of NYCEDC’s efforts to support New York City’s booming technology sector, NYCEDC has planned a two-day exhibit, panel, pitch night, and keynote to take place during CE Week. Highlights from the programming include:
NYC Startup Pavilion: Wednesday, June 26 – Thursday June 27 | Altman Building, Gallery Find out what’s next in the CE world by meeting 20 exciting up-and-coming startups representing a wide-range of NYC’s industry verticals.

New York’s Next Top Makers Pitch Night: Wednesday, June 26, 7-8 p.m. | Metropolitan Pavilion, 2nd Floor Six finalists from NYCEDC’s New York’s Next Top Makers competition will pitch their products on stage before a live audience. NYC Digital will sponsor the “Made in NY” Lounge to promote the city’s recently launched campaign, “We Are Made in NY”, an initiative which aims to support the local tech scene by providing resources and programs that help startups grow, highlighting job openings at tech startups, and helping to introduce “novices” to the growing industry. The “Made in NY” Lounge will be located in the NYC Startup Pavilion at the Altman Building Gallery, June 26-27.
The New York Angels will be holding its (private) monthly investment breakfast at CE Week on Wednesday, June 26 from 8– 11 a.m.
